Blepharitis Granulated Eyelids

I had never even heard of the term Blepharitis until I visited to my doctor to get treatment for what I thought was a persistent sty.

For months I had what I thought was a sty on my eye, it would always water if I lay on my side, some mornings I would get out of bed, look in the mirror and see a freak show staring back at me, my eye looked as if it had went ten rounds with Mike Tyson, it was painful and it looked terrible, sometimes puss would ooze out of my eye. I did not want to leave the house when my eye was really bad.

The doctor told me it was chronic and could only be controlled by constant cleansing with baby shampoo, the first few weeks I washed and washed every day with baby shampoo and cotton buds, as soon as the condition bettered itself I would get lazy and stop washing.

Guaranteed after a few weeks it would return, I always knew when it was returning as the eye would start watering again, the first sign of watering I would run to the bathroom and soak the end of a towel in boiling water and squeeze it on my eye, I would and still do often use the hot towel for at least an hour a time trying in vain to keep the condition at bay when I know it is ready to return.

I do not use the baby shampoo any more, I find the best results for me is to soak the corner of a towel in hot water (Not to hot) and press upon my eye, I also use a very soft tooth brush to clean the lids of my eyes.

Blepharitis really is a horrible condition as is any condition that makes your face look freaky.

I have learned to live with my condition even though I will never accept it, I just can not believe in this day and age there is no real cure.

If any readers hear of a cure post it on the dontwant.com forum as I am a regular visitor and am sure to see it.
