Speed dating.. don`t take it seriously
I`m an old romantic at heart, but all it got me was a few losers and many lonely nights. So I decided to enjoy life for a while after all I was only 27 plenty of time to find Mr. Right. My diary was now full of dates for parties, girls nights in, I was having the most fun I`d had in years. Then my friend asked me to go with her to a speed date night. I wasn`t keen at first no dating was the new me and I was having to much fun to even think of men, but she was let down at the last minute by her friend so agreed to go with her but only this once.
I didn`t give it much thought, wasn`t out to impress I was simply there to give support, or so I thought. The minute we walked into the room I wanted to turn and run out the door. It was packed and my nerves were kicking in. A few vodkas later and we were ready to speed date. 3 minutes with each person. Can you really get to know a person in 3 minutes? Oh yes!
The old saying "you will never forget your first", well it doesn`t just apply to sex believe me. I will never for get my first speed dater, although I can`t recall his name only the name I gave him. Mop-o-top his hair was as scraggy as a used mop but apart from that he was a nice guy funny, a little strange, couldn`t get a word in, but for some reason this left a lasting impression and made the rest of the night a breeze.
That night I met 20 different (very different) men. Some gorgeous, funny, creepy, weird, sweet, smelly and I was hooked to them all. It was like a drug one taste and I was an addict.
I have now been a speed dater for 9 months. Although I have yet to find Mr. Right I am having fun trying and I`m not planning on giving it up in the near future it is much more interesting getting to meet all types of men. I would definitely recommend speed dating to anyone.
